Garlic Butter Steak & Shrimp (Surf & Turf)

Ingredients

For the Steak

  • 2 ribeye or sirloin steaks (about 1–1.5 inches thick)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika (optional)
  • Fresh chopped parsley (optional)

For the Herb Butter

  • 4 tbsp softened butter
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • Pinch of salt & pepper

For the Shrimp

  • 300 g shrimp, peeled & deveined
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Lemon wedges

Instructions

1️⃣ Make the Herb Butter

  1. Mix softened butter with garlic, parsley, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
  2. Shape into a small log or spoonful and refrigerate until firm.

2️⃣ Prepare the Steak

  1. Pat steaks dry and season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  2. Heat a skillet or grill pan over high heat with 1 tbsp olive oil.
  3. Sear steak 3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare (adjust to your liking).
  4. Add a small spoon of herb butter on top while resting.
  5. Let rest 5 minutes.

3️⃣ Cook the Shrimp

  1. In the same pan, add 1 tbsp butter or oil.
  2. Sauté garlic for 20 seconds.
  3. Add shrimp, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Cook 1–2 minutes per side until pink and golden.
  5. Squeeze fresh lemon over the shrimp.
