Ingredients
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into pieces
- ½ cup coconut sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- 3 medium bananas, peeled and sliced lengthwise, then crosswise
- 2 scoops vanilla ice cream
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter until fully liquefied.
- Add coconut sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt. Stir continuously until the mixture becomes smooth and begins to bubble.
- Gently add the banana slices to the skillet, arranging them in a single layer.
- Cook for 2–3 minutes per side, spooning the sauce over the bananas, until they are golden and caramelized.
- Remove from heat.
To Serve
Spoon the warm bananas and caramel sauce over scoops of vanilla ice cream. Serve immediately while the contrast of hot and cold is at its best.

- Add a splash of dark rum or bourbon for a classic Bananas Foster twist.
- Sprinkle chopped toasted pecans or walnuts for added crunch.
