Ingredients
- 4 large croissants (bakery-fresh or store-bought)
- ½ lb (225 g) shrimp, peeled, deveined, and chopped
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh chives, finely chopped
- ¼ cup cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella or Gruyère cheese
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 egg, beaten (optional, for egg wash)
- Extra chives or fresh parsley, for garnish
👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Cook the Shrimp
- Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 2–3 minutes until just pink.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
2️⃣ Prepare the Creamy Filling
- In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, mayonnaise, and shredded cheese.
- Fold in cooked shrimp and chopped chives.
- Mix until creamy and well combined.
3️⃣ Stuff the Croissants
- Carefully slice each croissant lengthwise, without cutting all the way through.
- Generously stuff each croissant with the shrimp filling.
4️⃣ Bake Until Golden
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Place stuffed croissants on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush tops with egg wash if using.
- Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until cheese is melted and croissants are golden.
5️⃣ Garnish & Serve
- Remove from oven and garnish with extra chives or parsley.
- Serve warm for best flavor and texture.
